Bruce Brookshire * Gallery Stage * July 4th
With over twenty years of southern rock experience touring worldwide with his band Doc Holliday and also serving as his church's music minister for many years, Bruce Brookshire recently released his debut Christian CD, the solo acoustic project "The Damascus Road." Bruce's songs have an intimate, personal touch that express a desire for a close relationship with Christ; a yearning for the full experience of His gift of grace. At this summer's Cornerstone and One Festivals, Bruce and his band backed up Larry Howard. For Cornerstone they were joined by Stu Heiss (of REZ and Godzone) and shared in Larry's finale with Dru Lombar's band. |
Glenn Kaiser Band * Cornerstone Magazine Stage * July 5th
Over twenty-five years of pioneering contemporary Christian music ministry culminate in the Glenn Kaiser Band, a scorching power trio that serves up hard-driving blues rock with no-nonsense lyrics that appeals to longtime Resurrection Band fans as well as fans of Glenn's varied solo projects. "Let's just say that Rory Gallagher, the Welsh band Budgie and most every other rock music entity of the sixties were influences to me. As far as Christian artists, I seem to gravitate back to Rev. Gary Davis... Of course, I love Darrell Mansfield, Larry Howard and many others." Kaiser, bassist Roy Montroy and drummer Ed Bialach are rooted in the blues/rock tradition but lean toward powerful rock tunes that bring even more edge to their sound. This year the Glenn Kaiser Band was joined by Larry Howard at the Blues Buffet and also did a nearly impromptu set at the Cornerstone Magazine Stage when someone else couldn't make it. |
