Waterdeep * Main Stage * July 4th
Husband & wife team Don & Lori Chaffer first collaborated in 1990, leading to the band Hey Ruth. After Don formed Waterdeep in 1995, Lori joined a year later. With a strong following in the midwest and several outstanding independent releases, Steve Taylor signed Waterdeep to Squint Entertainment early this year. Their '70's art-rock influenced rootsy contemporary folk sound is new to young audiences and nostalgic for the rest of us. Waterdeep takes the listener deep into a dreamworld of meditative lyrics and joyful sounds, particularly in jam-filled marathon live performances that are legendary among their strong core following. After taking a break from touring last year, Waterdeep landed a slot on Main Stage for a powerful set that was unfortunately cut short due to a power failure. Even without power Waterdeep continued to perform hymns for those within earshod of their unamplified instruments. |
Lost Dogs * Acoustic Stage * July 5th
The
Lost Dogs were an eclectic combo featuring frontmen from
Christian alterna-rocks most legendary, influential
bands: Terry Taylor (Daniel Amos), Gene Eugene (Adam
Again), Derri Daugherty (The Choir) and Mike Roe (The
Seventy Sevens). Great vocal performances, signature
harmonies, bright guitars and a spirit of camaraderie
shine through. The Lost Dogs have an abundance of talent
and vision. With the passing of Gene Eugene Andrusco the
Dogs are walking on only three legs but they'll keep
walking... Gene would've wanted it that way. This year
The Lost Dogs presented their usual fine set to a
standing room only audience packing the Acoustic Stage to
overflow. |
