Most of us are familiar with Bryan Duncan. After all, he's one of the top names in CCM today. Long before there were Bryan Duncan CDs there was Sweet Comfort Band. Starting a music ministry is challenging enough but starting a music ministry when there's no such thing - now that's ambitious! Way back in 1973 Bryan Duncan, Randy Thomas, Kevin Thomson and Rick Thomson decided to put together a band so they could share their faith with many of their friends that didn't know Christ. Most of their songs were written about those very friends that inspired them in California. In 1977 they were signed by Maranatha Music and subsequently to Light Records releasing a total of six recordings and touring extensively. All the original members reunited this year for the first time since they disbanded in 1983 as part of the "Legends of CCM Tour". Their first performance was at "Creation East" and SWB was very well received. Their appearance at Cornerstone was certainly one of this year's highlights with many of the older fans fondly remembering these great songs from another era. The band shared stories and remenisced about the good old days playing as if those classic songs were written months ago instead of decades to everyone's delight and amazement.
