California Native Kendall Payne made her national debut in 1999 with a critically acclaimed Capitol Records release. The gift of expressing herself creatively has been central to Kendall's life for as long as she can remember. "Creating my own music was my way of escape, my way of expressing my own individuality." Kendall brings a refreshing lyrical honesty in songs that cover a wide range of subjects, from the media-created standards of female beauty to the dilemma of a crisis pregnancy. Kendall's unique lyrical and musical approach is breathtakingly evident throughout her energetic live performances. "Yes, I do feel a kindred spirit with women of my own age," she says with a smile, "But hopefully my music will resonate with everyone." Whether sharing her desire to discover more about who she is, expressing her personal faith, or addressing the human condition, Kendall Payne brings authenticity and originality to all her work. Opening the Main Stage festivities with the friendliness of a coffeehouse set, Kendall brought a very special intimacy to her first Cornerstone Festival performance.
